Beginning A New Life: Come As You Are

Beginning a new life as a married couple, with the person you are madly in love with, is exciting. It is something that words can barely describe. It is something, that until you experience it, you don’t fully comprehend it.

This next month I am celebrating thirteen years with my amazing husband. My best friend. My confidant in Christ. I made this video for him for a wedding surprise. We played it before I walked down the aisle. Since you all missed it, I am inviting you all into our big day.

This is Us

Thirteen years ago. I look at those two kids and wonder who those people are. We have not only gotten older, but our lives are also very different. We now have three kiddos that keep us very busy. Our greatest conversations revolve around God as we discuss what He means in our lives.

In these pictures, I loved him but now I love him. He has my heart and is truly the other half of myself.

Before we got married, I never understood the verses used in marriage ceremonies.

The verses come from Genesis when God made Eve from the flesh of Adam and then Jesus teaches them again in Mark 10 about the sanctity of marriage. I naively thought they were just part of ceremony and tradition. Now they are real to me.

For this reason, a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” Mark 10:7-9

Now that I am married and have some years under my belt, I understand my husband and I are one, united by Christ. I am living this out in my life. As I chose to respect the man that he is and he chooses to love me for who I am, flaws and all. I know I was surprised I had so many, too.

The secret to My Heart

I want to tell you the secret to this guy snagging me. Although there were many wonderful things about him, there was this one thing that made him unlike any other.

When my husband and I first started dating, we would stay up at late at night and have long talks. We would share our lives with each other. Our hopes and dreams, you know all the mushy stuff.

It was that time in a new relationship when your past and ex-relationships may come up. You know the dreaded moment when you feel like you really like someone and the last thing you want to do is talk about anyone else.

Great Conversations

Honestly, I believe those things can be completely unhealthy for a relationship and if they need to be discussed they need to be of mutual benefit. Once something is said, and this goes for many things, it cannot be unsaid or unheard. And it takes absolute maturity to have that conversation.

Does your new interest really need to know about past relationships? Whether you said yes or no, why do you feel that way?

Even though I believe in honesty and transparency, some things just do not need to be said. It was not that I was trying to hide things from him. I just could not see how it would help us move forward. I was who I was in spite of my past. Treading that water was not of interest to me. Those people were not of interest to me so why did it matter.

So one night as we are in a conversation, he said to me, “I don’t need to hear about your past, about your exes and stuff you did. All of that has made you who you are and I like that person.” Awwwww! I know you are Awwwing with me right now, aren’t you!

What a Gift

This was beyond sweet. This was a gift. He was going to like me regardless of any history. Any baggage that I may have carried in.

He was mature enough to handle my past and I was of his. We just did not need to discuss it. It had no benefit. We would continue this path no matter our past.

Who was this man?

The gift that he gave me that day was whispered and treasured in my heart. Come as you are.

What would this mean for me and our relationship as we were beginning a new life?

What would that mean to you?

The One Who Whispers Come As You Are

This sweet phrase is some exciting news for all of us. God is an amazing Father that gives us that same exact gift. He says to us come as you are and let me love the person that you have become.

No matter our past or our current, God is willing to take us in just as we are. He is willing to love us in spite of who we are when we come to Him.

For a long time, I was afraid to face God. Even though I was a Christian, I was on the run. I was afraid to face the person that I had become. If I had only realized then His pursuit of me was with those exact words, come back to me as you are.

In Revelation, there are several beautiful pictures of Christ and the new heaven and the new earth being revealed as a bride to her bridegroom.

Maybe it’s just me, but when I attend a wedding, I always look at the groom as the bride is entering the room. There is nothing more revealing about the way a groom gazes upon his soon to be bride. The first moment when he sees her with fresh eyes is such a precious moment.

No matter how many times he has laid his gaze upon her, there is something about that moment. The moment his eyes connect with the beautiful bride that is about to become the other half of his one flesh.

A Perfect Picture of Christ

This is a picture of Christ. We are His bride. He looks at us with the greatest of love. He desires our oneness and our devotion to His heart.

Jesus offers us all this beautiful gift.

Revelation 22:17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” Let anyone who hears this say, “Come.” Let anyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who desires drink freely from the water of life.

Our past, as we walk down the aisle into our Father’s love, disappears. As far as the east is to the west when we repent and turn to Him, so far does He throw our sin away. He sees us as the beautiful bride adorned in His grace and mercy. Gazing at us through the scope of His Son, Jesus. He showers us with His Holy love and we become His.

God created the sanctity of marriage, the bond between a man and his wife and it is one that is not to be torn apart by human hands. (Matthew 19:6) It is a bond that is created in Heaven, even if it doesn’t always feel like it. Marriage is a gift and something amazing to be treasured.

Believers are the Church, the bride of Christ. This beautiful verse in Isaiah assures of God’s bond with us.

“From eternity to eternity I am God. No one can snatch anyone out of my hand. No one can undo what I have done.” Isaiah 43:13 NLT

Do not let your situations from the past or from the present, or what you foresee yourself facing in the future keep you from coming to the Lord. He knows who you are and He loves you anyway. Hear His voice. See His Word. He says to all who all willing, “Come.”

Prayer for Meditation

Lord, I am in awe of the changed heart you have given me. In awe that you would know every detail about me and love me just the same. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for loving us in spite of who we are. For not turning from us in our hour of greatest need. Thank for simply inviting us in to come as we are and become yours. Adorned in your love. A love we don’t deserve but you freely give us. We praise Your Great Name, Amen!

Erika DeWitt – Risen Upon Thee

Hi everyone! My name is Erika, and I had the joy of helping Jaime with her site relaunch. We created the new look for her blog that you see today. But before I explain that process, I’d like to tell you a bit about myself and my design company, Risen Upon Thee.

If you had asked me even a few years ago if I’d ever leave the corporate world to start my own business in digital design. I’d tell you you were crazy! But in January of this year (2017), I finally overcame my insecurities and set out on a path I knew God had prepared for me. I’ve always been talented with graphic and web design. I had never considered it as a serious profession, despite dabbling in it on and off since my middle school days.

But now, almost a year later and with many opportunities to stretch my wings, I’m so happy I’ve taken this walk of faith. I see God has some very special people who need my help crafting their online ministries. Our gifts combined help bring these inspiring websites to life. I also chose the name Risen Upon Thee because it’s a phrase stemming from my life verse in Isaiah 60:1:

Arise, shine, for thy light has come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.

Site Relaunch at Seeking God with Jaime Wiebel

When Jaime reached out, she told me that she felt God was calling her to leave Blogger, a free blogging software. She wanted to move onto a paid host and a premium version of WordPress. I was happy to help Jaime achieve these goals. As I informed her of my process and projected timelines while I did the work, I took many concerns off her shoulders.

I transferred her Blogger content to her new site and created the initial design. Then I showed her how to customize her site for future needs. Both Jaime and I are pleased with the final results. She tells me she has been getting a lot of great feedback! If you would like help developing a personal and inspiring look for your online hub, feel free to contact me.

Glory Song by Matt Redman – Review and Giveaway

Music is such a powerful tool for worship.

We find the Israelites in Exodus after being rescued from the Egyptians singing a song of praise.

“The LORD is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him. Exodus 15:2 (NIV)

The Psalms are full of songs that were sung and still to this day songs are written from these very Psalms.

It is such an amazing way to give God glory and to exalt Him through our song.

This week I had a privilege of listening to the new Matt Redman CD – Glory Song.

This CD, from the moment I began listening to it, helped me lift my spirit to the Lord in worship.

All the songs are wonderful and it is no wonder that his songs continue to be chart toppers.

Matt Redman has teamed up with some of his worship artist friends including Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Madison Cunningham, Kim Walker-Smith, Guvna B and Kierra Sheard.

I must say so far, I know it may change the more I listen to this disc, is the way Matt Redman teamed up of the traditional hymn When We All Get to Heaven with his own lyrics for the verses. This track is called One Day (When We All Get To Heaven). You all know you are singing that old hymn now!

The truth is I have had this song on replay. When my kids know this song already and belt out the chorus.

Oh! What a happy day! If there is anything I want them rejoicing for is the day we all get to heaven.

God’s Witness to the End and Sitting Among Friends Blog Party #93

This world is not my home.

I am just a passing through.

My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue.

The angels beckon me from heaven’s open door

And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore.

Those are the beginning song lyrics to This World is not My Home by Jim Reeves from his album We Thank Thee.

When I began to think about writing this post. Those words came to my head. The only thing I could think is that my grandfather used to sing this song.

He would go around the house or just about anywhere and sing tidbits of songs. Remembering that puts a smile on my face. What puts a bigger smile on my face is knowing that he is able to sing to Jesus now.

He was a faithful man. I remember seeing him every morning sitting at his dining room table, Bible open and praying. As he went through his day, he was singing tunes such as these.

When my grandfather passed away, he was at such peace. He said I’m going home. Although that was hard for us to see him go, we could do nothing but rejoice with him.

He knew his home was not this world and he lived as a testimony to God’s faithfulness.

So often we are bombarded with the stresses of this world. It sometimes seems so overwhelming that we feel like we are going to break. We want to know we are doing right in the sight of God, yet we have an uneasiness about us.

Well, part of that uneasiness comes from the very thought of the first lines of this old song.

My grandpa knew all too well, especially near the end that this was not his home and he was just passing through.

We are here for only a moment, visitors and strangers in the land as our ancestors were before us. Our days on earth are like a passing shadow, gone so soon without a trace. 1 Chronicles 29:15 (NLT)

I have fond memories of my grandpa. He passed away of cancer. I got to spend a lot of time near the end of his life taking him to appointments and taking him for rides in the car.

And I fondly remember him telling me one time that he asked the Lord for one thing and that would be that he would pass peacefully in his sleep. Well the Lord granted him that final prayer.

Up to the minute and even beyond my grandfather’s life lives a story of his witness and testimony of his faith.

Because of his life and his peaceful passing, my husband (we were just dating at the time) decided to give his life to Christ. He saw that if a man could have that peaceful of a death, just passing through this world, he wanted that peace in his life as well. A peace that only comes from God.

My grandfather never got that news but I know that the moment he stepped into the presence of The Almighty Lord, he was greeted with the words Well done, good and faithful servant.

“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ Matthew 25:21 (NIV)

Even if you feel like you have been dealt the shorthand, God has put you in charge of that hand. Living a faithful life with the little still means you get to share in the Father’s happiness.

My grandpa always joked that my grandma nagged him into heaven but I know there is no place he would rather be than worshipping at the feet of his heavenly Father.

So, the uneasiness in this life. It is only for a while. Because one day as a believer, you too, will find that this world was not your home and you were only passing through.

Being God’s witness right to the end. Receiving our reward as a life well lived. Well, then I too, just want to be passing through till I am beckoned home.

Patterns of Evidence – Exodus – Movie Review and Giveaway

This week I have the opportunity to bring to you a review of the movie Patterns of Evidence – Exodus – winner of 13 awards.

I watch Biblically based movies with a bit of trepidation. Especially documentaries. I think it is easy to see visual representations of Biblical stories and keep them as my depiction of what really happened or what the Bible says.

Movies are made to be dramatic and entertaining and will leave out the truth for the sake of time or production.

With this movie, I was very impressed. Filmmaker Tim Mahoney spent 12 years in the development of this movie.

The story is based on the Filmmakers Journey to Discover the truth by asking honest questions about the Bible.

Tim Mahoney was facing a personal Crisis in his faith and wanted tangible answers. He was conflicting between what he always thought he knew about the Bible, namely the Exodus of the Israelites, and what was real.

I love that honesty and facing the real struggles of faith. I know we can all relate.

There were many things that I enjoyed about this movie. I did like how well the movie was done visually. There were bits of the movie where the Bible story was being told and it was done in a simple but powerful way.

As we follow this filmmaker on his journey to uncover the truth of the Exodus we are lead all over the world as the pieces of evidence unfold.

He interviews people who are both believers and non-believers in the God and hears their versions of the Exodus stories. Through this journey, he discovers the varying opinions, based on science and faith on what happened to the Israelites.

The story begins with Abraham leaving his homeland in pursuit of the promised land to the exodus of the Israelites out of Egypt.

I enjoyed how he leaves the movie allowing us to make this judgment for ourselves based on the evidence.

I am not someone that requires physical archeological evidence for my faith because my faith journey is based on a changed heart and that can’t be dug up and examined when I am gone. What I hope will be able to be examined is the evidence of the words and the testimony of my life. I pray that is evidence and legacy of my faith and a life well lived.

I know some people, however, need or want hard evidence to prove their faith. This journey takes the person looking for hard evidence down that road.

I loved seeing the accounts of the stories. What I do love about movies and documentation like this is how God is not afraid to reveal Himself and His truth to us.

I also think it is awesome that God knows there are people who want evidence. I don’t think He shames that. Look at the story of Thomas. He said he wouldn’t believe unless he saw the proof and there Jesus stood and didn’t condemn him but showed him His hands, feet and pierced side. Because of Jesus’ truth and gentleness in that situation Thomas believed.

The journey that we are taken through in Patterns of Evidence is an opportunity to solidify our faith as we see God revealing His accounts of history to us. It’s exciting to see how they all line up and fall into place.

That doesn’t always happen. Sometimes we have not been revealed things and that is when God wants us to step out in faith and trust that His Words are true.

This is the angle the movie takes. He says here is the evidence – do with it what you will. We may not have all the answers or all the pieces but we have enough to make a very strong case. The rest of it is up to our faith.

I just want to point out one of the men being interviewed in this movie. He is a leading archeologist and a professed agnostic. The evidence that he continually gives is for the Bible is an accurate historical document. He points out time and time again how all the evidence aligns with the Bible.

I found that to be very fascinating. I actually had to go back and listen to the fact that he said he was agnostic because of the evidence he was sharing.

It is hard to see people have the evidence for a living God right in front of them and completely miss Him. It just reminds me how much we need to pray for unbelievers and for their eyes to be opened.

Overall, I would recommend this movie. I thought that is was very well done both visually and through the evidence.

As a believer, it gives you another reason to be excited about the Bible and gives you a great resource and source of conversation for people who may be looking for the hard evidence.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8 (NIV)

Raising Kids with godly Character Part 2 and Sitting Among Friends #90

Teaching our kids godly character can be tough. They are in a world where they are faced with anything but. It is important that we prepare them for now and as growing independent adults.

I love the reminder in the quote, “if we don’t teach our children someone else will,” because it is so true. Kids are eager to learn so let’s be the ones to teach them about Jesus.

Last week we discussed Raising our Kids with godly Character. We looked at 7 godly characters to teach our kids and this week we will discuss 7 more. Tune in next week for practical tips on how-to teach them.

Love – Love is the essential command of godly character because all others hinge on this one. After having taught His disciples many lessons, Jesus was asked what was the most important.

Matthew 22:37-40 (BSB) Jesus declared, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commandments.”

Forgiveness – Forgiveness can be difficult. Sometimes the hurt seems too much to bear and forgiveness seems far out of reach. But unforgiveness can be like a disease eating away at us. Teach kids young the importance and the benefit of forgiveness and reminding them they, too, have been forgiven.

Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Colossians 3:13 (NLT)

Gratitude – Gratitude may begin as a habit but the underlying goal should be internal. Teaching and then allowing kids to be truly grateful for what they are given in every circumstance.

Give thanks in every circumstance, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (BSB)

Kindness – My kids have been on a kick when every time someone does something they don’t like, they say, “you’re mean.” I think we have to distinguish personal preferences from actual meanness by teaching kindness. Teaching our kids what it looks like and why it is important. One way to do this is by teaching the fruits of the spirit.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no Law. Galatians 5:22-23 (BSB)

Serving Others – In a family is a great place to learn how to serve others. Sometimes they are the hardest people to serve. But teaching our kids to love and serve each other in everyday life will be a blessing to the whole family and teach our kids to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. 1 Peter 4:10 (NLT)

Wisdom – When Solomon was granted the right to ask God for something, he chose wisdom. Wisdom means not only having knowledge but knowing what to do with it. When asked, God granted that to Solomon and was well pleased.

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. James 1:5 (NIV)

Communion with God – Through communion with God, I mean to worship in word, action, and song. Reading the Bible, Prayer, and Sharing their Faith. I know that is a lot of ideas lumped into one idea but I believe these things are necessary for our growing relationship and communion with Him.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing. (KJV)

I will praise you, LORD, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. Psalm 108:3 (NIV)

Oh, how I love your instructions! I think about them all day long. Psalm 119:97 (NLT)

How blessed are those who observe His testimonies, Who seek Him with all their heart. Psalm 119:2 (NASB)

I would like to end this by saying I don’t always do this right. Sometimes we read posts like this and may think, that mom has it all together (even when we know that is not the truth).

I wish I was doing this better. The truth is I am in the trenches of parenting with you.

This is as much for me as it is for you so I am glad you joined me on this journey. This was great for me to look up these verses so I, too, can be the mom that God wants me to be.

Adventure and Sitting Among Friends #88

Adventure

I don’t usually write posts like this but the kiddos are about to go back to school, so I want to make this writing brief. I wanted you to be able to join us for the summer adventure that we have enjoyed.

Adventure means an unusual and exciting, typically hazardous, experience or activity even charting into unknown territory, according to the Smart Lookup on my computer.

I love adventure. In fact, when I moved to Hawaii, I had a job and two suitcases and an adventure ahead of me.

I couldn’t do that with kids, especially the hazardous part. Now it’s pack waters, snacks, extra clothes, the works. Have a bit of a plan.

I love exploring places we have never been. But what’s, even more, fun is doing that with kids. They have a fresh perspective on life.

Even if I have done it before, it can be a whole new experience seeing it through the eyes of a child.

At the end of last school year, my son wrote a report on our home state. So, this summer we have been exploring the places around us. It has been really fun! And one of the best parts is so many of them have been free or very inexpensive.

Family Time is so Important

Family time is so important. I grew up in a family of six and family time was greatly treasured. Spending time with family is a great way for kids to get life-long bonds.

Below are a couple of collages of my family on those family adventures. I am excited for you to get a peek into our summer. So, come on, and join us on our adventures.

I don’t have tons of pictures because I am always too busy with whatever we are doing that the camera is a total last minute, “Ooh, I should have taken a picture today!”

This was completely unexpected driving to find an old country store. We discovered a huge lake completely covered in lily pads. God is such an awesome artist. Look at those beautiful flowers!

We have had tons of fun with family. We went swimming and fishing at the lake. Then swimming some more. We also went creek stomping and hiking through a local park (that’s a big hill we hiked down to the creek). Cousins are so much fun!

We also had a ton of fun exploring local parks, going to a baseball game, trekking through local museums, and visiting new towns. What fun!

10 Verses to Start Back to School Like A Champ and Sitting Among Friends #87

Back to school can be so exciting for kids. They get to see friends they have missed all summer. They get all those new school supplies and who doesn’t love school supplies.

I was always drawn to new pens and paper. Who remembers trapper keepers? Those were the best. Like your own office that you could carry with you.

For some kids, however, it is a time of high anxiety. There are lots of unknowns in a new school year. I used to teach middle school and I always remember the kids coming in so unsure of that next stage in life.

How were they ever going to get those locker combinations done and get to class on time?

Who were their friends going to be and were they going to be in any classes together?

So many uncertainties. This is an awesome opportunity to arm your kids with God’s Word. We know that God is constant and in Him, they can find great refuge.

They are about to go into some uncharted territory and it would be great if they knew God was on their side.

Hopefully, we have done our part as parents but navigation those outside influences can be so overwhelming. This is a great way to have those conversations about turning to God when mom and dad are not around.

Today we are going to look at 10 issues (I know there are more) that our kids are facing and arm them with 10 verses to help them stand strong in God’s Word. This year they will go back to school like a champ!

You are Never Alone

Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” Hebrews 13:5 (NLT)

Give Away Your Worries

Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. 1 Peter 5:7 (NLT)

Conquer Fears

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7 (NIV)

Flee from Temptation – Fight the Good Fight

But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. 1 Timothy 6:11 (NIV)

Overcome Peer Pressure

Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.” 1 Corinthians 15:33 (NIV)

Or If We Fail

Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? Romans 8:35 (NLT)

Do Not Be Discouraged

That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. 2 Corinthians 4:16 (NLT)

Resist Insecurity

I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. John 10:28 (NIV)

Do Not Be Troubled

“I am leaving you with a gift–peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. John 14:27 (NIV)

Choose True Friends

A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need. Proverbs 17:17 (NLT)

Verses to Calm an Anxious Heart & Sitting Among Friends #86

School is just around the corner and for me, that means an increase in anxiety. I have to admit. I love having my kids at home and them going back to school makes me a little, okay a lot, extra anxious.

Today had to be the worse day. I am talking reckless tears and a headache to boot.

Your reasons for being anxious or worrying may not be the same as mine. There are many other reasons that cause us to feel trapped in the anxieties of this world. Parenting, Marriage, Jobs, Money, Family Relationships, Debts, Illness, and you may wonder where the list ends.

But we have hope. We have a God that is in the business of conquering our fears and anxieties.

New stages or seasons in life involve change. Change is inevitable, even though it brings with it a certain amount of fear or anxiety we can embrace these days with hope.

I don’t know about you but I really need these assurances right now and I know they can only come from God’s Word. We are going to look to God to bring us go through these transitions with hope, courage, and strength.

Do Not Worry

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air: They do not sow or reap or gather into barns–and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his lifespan? Matthew 6:25-27 (BSB)

He already knows your needs

“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Matthew 6:31-32 (NLT)

In Everything Pray

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)

Rest, O My Soul, In God Alone

My soul, wait in silence for God only, for my hope is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I shall not be shaken. On God, my salvation and my glory rest; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God. Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah. Psalm 62:5-8 (NASB)

Take Heart! He has overcome the World!

I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation. But take courage; I have overcome the world!” John 16:33 (BSB)

My dear friends, we know there will troubles in this world. We can curl up on the couch with them or we can curl into God’s Holy Word with them. A stronghold where in His arm we can find comfort.

In God’s Word, we are told not to worry time and time again. We are told to pray and give our petitions and thanksgivings to God because there we will be given peace.

We are encouraged that God is our mighty fortress where we can come and find rest and still our anxious hearts before Him.

God is a conqueror! He has overcome this world that we live and fret in. In knowing that we can be courageous and march on through our days with Him marking our path and leading the way.
