Happy New Year 2015, continued.
If you haven’t read the last blog check that out first.
Although my husband was a bit confused and hesitant, he said, “okay”. My husband is a man of few words but he trusts God and knows that everything will be okay and that is all he needed to say. Actually he also said, “Does this mean we have to move to another country?” I said, “I am sure that God has plenty of work for us right here, for now.” I know my pastor and missionary friends in faraway places are laughing about this right now.
This is where my blog page started. My husband came home the next day from work and said you should start writing a blog page. I thought there were several issues with that idea but I will think about it. One, our computer is about twelve years old and is not connected to the internet, oh yes and we don’t have the internet and I know anything about blogging.
I wasn’t completely discouraged or dissatisfied with the thought and found it encouraging that my husband was thinking about things and encouraging me to act on what I had said. I was just so excited about this new adventure and I know with God ALL things are possible. Let’s give it a go. I decided the first step could be a blog site. The next day I got on my Kindle, connected to a wireless connection, and started typing on my three by four inch keyboard. After a couple of entries, I started to make a few calls.
I struggled with several things. I am not online so I have no internet connections. I had never been on Facebook, so I wasn’t sure how I was going to spread the word besides just telling people. I sent out my blog posts and just prayed and said, “Lord, I am not connected but You are connected to the world, so I am relying on You to make these connections.”
I hesitantly got on to Facebook, and thanks to all of you who have supported me and read my blog posts, it has really been going great. I feel like I have a voice in the world and am able to speak God’s truths to anyone who will listen or read and it is very exciting.
I still have a few struggles but God is constantly coming through for me. I don’t have the internet at my house so I have to go to where I can get free Wi-Fi. My sister gave me her older laptop so I am able to type on a regular computer; it has a few issues so please pray that I can get them worked out or the money to get a new one. These things may not seem ideal but God is good and He provides.
For 2015, I do not know where God will lead me. I do not tell Him my plans, He leads and I follow. I don’t feel my strengths are always in writing but I ask God to give me the words and the message He wants sent out and He tells me in 2 Corinthians that I don’t have to be great to send out His Word.
In 2 Corinthians 12:3 Paul says, “And He (the Lord) said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, because My power is perfected in weakness.’ Therefore, rather I will boast more gladly in my weakness, in order that the power of the Lord may reside in me.”
I pray that His message will reach as many people that need it that day. I pray that He will continue to give me the passion and the ability to understand His word and be obedient in what it says.
I ask in 2015 that you pray for my work in Christ to be for His purposes and to further His kingdom. I also ask that you pray for Him to give me the words to spread His gospel and that He opens doors and makes opportunities for me to continue His work.
I know that this is new for me but I continue to ask that you share the link to my blog page and that you invite your friends to join me in this adventure, whether by Facebook or email.
My goal in writing is that it will be sound doctrine, honest, clear to understand, and help others in walking in God’s promises in their everyday life. Life is an amazing journey and if we do this together and support each other, we will all receive the blessings God has in store for us.
Thank you all for your support now and in the coming year and May God Bless your journey.
