This week I had the awesome opportunity to guest post on a new friend’s site. You can find Lenae at Fancy and Fearless. Lenae is a lifestyle and faith blogger and has a beautiful new space, so be sure to read the rest of my post there. Before you slip away, don’t forget to link up at this week’s Sitting Among Friends Blog Party
Over the years, I have taken on many business adventures. It is not necessarily because I like to sell stuff, but I love being creative. When I have created products, I have wanted to get them in the hands of others and that usually ended in creating a small business.
When I lived in Hawaii, I became enthralled with making jewelry. After studying the processes and asking a lot of questions, I created Seaside Design. (I lived on Seaside Avenue.) When I moved back to the mainland, I continued to make jewelry, even though at the time materials were less assessable.
A couple of years later, I learned how to sew. I began fashioning items such as handbags, purses, aprons, wallets and planner covers and created You’re Sew Trendy. I loved crafting things because it was very challenging. Part of the challenge was; I do not know how to use patterns. So, I would have to study a picture or object and try to figure out how to recreate it adding my own style. What became of it, was a product I loved and appreciated.

Thanking you for hosting a new year. Heading over to read your post. My friend just moved to Hawaii and I'll have to ask her about Seaside Avenue…I like that name. Blessings for the week.

It is in Waikiki. I have to say, if anyone wanted to vacation, this is the ideal spot. I lived there for one year. It could be rainy anywhere else on the island and walking two blocks to the beach, it was always sunny. I loved it. I could use some of that sunshine today. Thank you for stopping by again this week.

Hawaii sounds awesome! Sewing is definitely on my to do list of things to learn! Thanks for hosting, Jaime! Hope you have a wonderful week 🙂
Jaime Wiebel says
Sewing seems like a thing for specialty people these days instead of out of necessity like generations in the past. I can't tell you how many new clothes I have bought that have needed some mending. A machine does come in handy. I wish I had more time for that.

This is true. My grandmother was amazing at sewing, canning, and all these other things that I wish I would have valued and learned when she was alive. Thanks for sharing with #SocialButterflySunday! Hope to see you link up again this week.

We visited Hawaii some years back for my daughters wedding, beautiful place.
I have enjoyed many years of sewing for myslef and my kids, making quilts, accessories, purses, wallets, and so many hoe decor items, it is such a rewarding experience to make something from nothing.
Thank you for sharing on the Oh My Heartsie Girls WW this week.
Wishing you a Beautiful New year!
Karren

You are so right Karren, it is so rewarding to create things. I recently for Christmas got two "adult" coloring books. I love being able to just let my mind wander into a project and be free to just go where it takes me. It is also why I love cooking, it is a break for my mind to just be free.

Jaime, thank you again for the Liebster Award. I have (finally) released a post on it and mention you. So grateful to have found you! http://www.journeytohim.com/accepts-liebster-award/

Love it Pam. What I love about asking other bloggers a list of questions is you get to know them more, you see that you have more in common than you think, and you feel a little less alone on this journey. I am glad to get to know you more. Many blessings this year.
