You’re Already Amazing LifeGrowth Guide Review and Sitting Among Friends Blog Party #14

March 2, 2016 by Jaime Wiebel 29 Comments

This past month, I have had the privilege of previewing Holley Gerth’s, Life Growth Guide as part of a launch team. This guide is designed to accompany her Wallstreet Journal BestSelling Book, You’re Already Amazing. Embracing Who You Are, Becoming All God Created You to Be. I am not just writing a good review because Holley sent tea with her package. This study has tons of great features.

I want to start off by saying, I have not read You’re Already Amazing and I still found the LifeGrowth Guide to be very beneficial and worth the time to go through.

The 6 Sessions are designed for you to dig deep into your heart and mind to work toward the goal of becoming all God created you to be:

1.     Who God Created Us to Be

2.     What’s True No Matter How I Feel
3.     Our Amazing Journey With Jesus
4.     God’s Plans for Our Relationships
5.     God’s Purpose for Our Lives
6.     How We Can Thrive for a Lifetime

There are several features of this study that I believe make it stand out.
Whenever I am in Bible studies, I carry an extra notebook for writing down teaching or discussion notes, prayer requests, and anything that really stands out to me from that session. With the LifeGrowth Guide, that is not necessary.

Holley has included a section for ample Notes and Journaling and Creative Projects. She also gives, in each of the sessions, ideas for journaling and creative projects to get your creative juices churning. Creating an outlet for you to dive into the each of the processes that she is asking you to explore deeper.
In each section, you are also asked questions to process the session and relate it to your life for further growth and deeper maturity in your faith with Christ.
One of my favorite features is the “Your Life-Coach” sections. Holley gives real-life scenarios or things people under her counsel have faced. She cheers us on by coaching us through each session.
As I was reading through the stories, I thought, this has been me at some point in my life and wise counsel would have been appreciated. It was like having my own personal life coach right beside me walking with me through the trials and victories of my life.

Another point that I enjoyed was every section Holley reminded us to connect with her through her social media sites. The opportunity to connect with another believer along this journey could be crucial to many people.
Holley also included a DVD. If you don’t have the DVD, you can view all the sessions online for free at HolleyGerth.com/amazing where you will find an array of resources and printables.
DVD: The only thing I wish was that the videos were a bit longer.  Each session contained about ten minutes of video. They all offered really great guidance and encouragement while Holley invited you into her heart and home.
You’re Already Amazing LifeGrowth Guide would be good for women of all ages and all stages of life. The fantastic thing about this book is it can be done by yourself, with a few friends, or with small groups.
Overall, I thought this guide was fantastic. It actually has too many good features to mention, without giving it all away. I would recommend this LifeGrowth Guide to women seeking growth in their hearts and minds with the desire to be the women that God created them to be.

A book to let girls know who they are in Christ is always great! I wish I had had better resources when I was a younger girl.

That was the first book I ever got from Holley. I think I missed out on the opportunity to review–tea? videos? Obviously, I missed that part. Sounds like something I need to get.

Thanks, Jaime, for the review! I love the description of how the layout gives plenty of room for notes and doodling maybe if a visual person wants to add an idea. I have not read either book, but am currently in a small women's Bible study group that will be soon finishing A Loving Life by Paul Miller. (Excellent study on the book of Ruth.) Your review gives us another option to consider for the next study.

The whole book offers plenty of room for writing throughout. There is also a section in the back that you can journal throughout your journey. What I love about that is you can really see how you grow through a process and even in the years down the road. You can also see how God is blessing you through a season. Thank you for stopping, Pam. Have a great week.
