Sometimes our lives are filled with regret and shame. The baggage we have accumulated from years of a life traveled in the trenches weighs us down. It gets heavy and unaware of the closest place to rid it from our burdened heart we continue to carry it.
But there is a place. There is someone who will carry us through and where life can be lived without shame and the baggage can be unloaded.
This well-traveled road doesn’t have to leave us weary. It doesn’t have to leave us buried in shame.
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 (NLT)

All the times you may want to erase from your past matter because they make you who you are. They make you a living testament to The Living God.
A God that transforms, that gives mercy when it is not deserved or earned. A God that pours grace on the wounds and scars. These things don’t have to define us because we are defined by the God who created us.

I love this song but it should come with a warning which says:
WARNING: DO NOT listen to this song while driving with your kids in the back seat where you can see them quickly growing up before your eyes in the rear-view mirror.
