I have been out of the office this week (aka at my desk with my laptop) serving my civic duty. I have not had the opportunity to do any writing because it has been an all day thing. Days like this I wish I had more prepared in advance. Many of you, however, know what it feels like when you feel like you can barely keep up let alone have a surplus of life available. I am also relying on scheduled tech programs to work.
This is me this week. I hope to be back on track by next week.
I just want to say for anyone who has the opportunity to perform what is considered to be your public duty, you should take the opportunity. I know at first it may seem annoying, frustrating and highly inconvenient to have to figure our a new schedule for your life for a few days. But it is an interesting process and it will hopefully teach you more compassion for others in the position of the court and you never know when you or someone you love will be on the other end of that and you need to be there for them.
So without further ado here is this week’s linkup.
Now Join us as Friends Meet, Sit Down and Share Life at Sitting Among Friends Blog Party.

I know about trying to fit it all in in a week's time. Never enough hours or hands. A good reminder about our civic duty. Thanks for the party in the midst of your busy week. Shared on Google.

You know if I had eight arms, I don't know if I could get it all done. You do what you can and make the best with what you have. Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing with us this week, Michelle.

Hey Jamie,
I hope you get an interesting assignment. In the past, I've wanted to do my civic duty, but was never selected to serve on a case. Now, as a working daddy of four kiddos, I cringe at the thought–so hopefully, no new summons are on their way. However, when the kiddo's are a little bit older, this is something that I think I would enjoy doing. Wishing you a blessed week in the midst of your newest adventure!
Jaime Wiebel says
I am a stay-at-home-mom. I get your cringe. My husband had to use his vacation time for me to serve. At first we were a bit frustrated with the situation but God has plans for us and He knows those plans. Now that I am here, it worked at at it was something I should have just done without any grumbling.

I'm your neighbor over at Jennifer's today! Love this link-up. So far I've been blessed to only be called once and was released bc I was nursing. But I bet you got some good material out of this experience!
Jaime Wiebel says
Thank you for visiting us here today. I hope you enjoyed your first time linking up with us and we look forward to seeing you again this week.

Doing a civic duty is good. I am lucky that I get paid when I do it. Many people don't want to, I always say don't reject but affirm that you are a citizen.
Jaime Wiebel says
Thank you Patrick for showing us your pictures as you travel. Most of the people that served on Jury duty were getting paid by their employers. I am employed by three little kids. They were not too keen on paying me to be away from home.
Raising Samuels says
Thanks for sharing this positive spin on this, Jaime and for hosting! Hope you are having an awesome week ๐
Jaime Wiebel says
We have a right and responsibility to serve other citizens. I just kept thinking if I was in a situation where I needed the help of the justice system for any reason, I would hope that others would take it seriously and show up on my behalf.
Raising Samuels says
That's a wonderful viewpoint, Jaime! I don't think many people understand what it means to be in another shoes, and express empathy and justice toward them. Blessings to you my friend and thanks for sharing with #SocialButterflySunday! Hope you will join the link up again this week ๐
Jaime Wiebel says
Absolutely. I love connecting, friend! Thanks for hosting.

I was so excited when I got called for Jury Duty. I had to delay by 6 months at first because my baby was still young and I was breastfeeding, so the only disappointment was that my final call date was my son's birthday. I wasn't put on a jury, but I did get called to do the question panel for one.
Jaime Wiebel says
The last time I got called I still had new baby and he was allergic to milk so he was relying solely on me. It was impossible for me to go. This time I had to make a few adjustments but it worked out.
Lori Schumaker says
Hi Jaime, I'm praying for God to do abundantly more than you can imagine in a shortage of time. That He simply hold time still and help you to accomplish that to-do list in record time! Thank you so much for hosting this precious community!
Blessings and smiles,
Lori
Jaime Wiebel says
Lori, I am still trying to catch up. Thank you so much for your prayers, you are truly sweet. Thank you for coming back to visit with us each week.

Hi Jamie I am so happy you got a privilege to perform this civic duty.
Donโt worry about getting prepared sometimes life interrupts even overly prepared people!
You will settle in perfectly just take your time and do it gradually.
Hugs and blessings to you
Jaime Wiebel says
Thank you for the encouragement. I am trying to catch up this week so now it is like I am busy for two weeks in a row. There is never enough time in anyone's day. I am all for leaving something for tomorrow, instead of stressing about it today.
Tai East says
Thanks so much for hosting, Jaime! GOD is with you and I pray that you have a wonderful and productive week! GOD bless you, beautiful friend! ๐
Jaime Wiebel says
Thank you so much Tai. I truly appreciate the prayer. I could use it for this week, too with all the catch up. Thank you so much for your support, friend. You have a great week.

My husband just got off a month-long case! I think he actually enjoyed the break from his busy job that often doesn't end even after he comes home. I served on a 2 month gang-related murder case a few years ago. It was fascinating–scary, but fascinating. Good to be here after a few weeks that I took off for no other reason than to recharge.
Jaime Wiebel says
I just had three days. I think that is all my children would have been able to handle. In my situation being a stay-at-home-mom, My husband couldn't have afforded to take off any longer to be with our kids. He did a great job though and they were glad to have him home.
Beth says
I'm impressed that you served jury duty as well as hosting the linkup here, Jaime. And I'm so glad you found the experience interesting and enlightening as well. Thanks for the linkup, my friend!
Jaime Wiebel says
I am not sure how well I did it all. My focus was really on thinking through all the evidence of the case because I wanted to be a fair jury member and wanted to do my job well.
Mary Hill says
Hi, I always wanted to serve on a jury, but I was never chosen. Thanks for letting us know about your linkup on Literacy Musing Mondays. I adding it to my linkup page.
Jaime Wiebel says
Thank you so much Mary for adding us to your list that you link with. The love being able to show what sites I link with because when I was starting out I looked to a lot of people's list and then stuck with the ones I go back to every week. I am glad to be linking up with you.
