<h2><span style="color: #6c4f70;">Take Back Your Time Review</span></h2>
<p>This week I am excited to share with you the new book Take Back Your Time by Morgan Tyree. In her newest book, she is teaching strategies on how to identify priorities, decrease stress, and increase productivity. Who&#8217;s in?</p>
<p>I was so excited to get this book, which I was given as a free copy to review and one to giveaway (Yay, Us!) from Blog About Blogger Network for my honest review.</p>
<p>I was excited for probably the same reasons you would be when you look at the content focus of this book. Take Back Your Time feels so freeing to me. Even before I opened up a single page, I was in.</p>
<p>If you are anything like me and I would even say a majority of people &#8212; time never feels on our side. There is one thing we can&#8217;t control and that is how many hours in a day. We all have the same 24 hours 7 days a week.</p>
<p>We have, however, become a society that thrives on &#8220;busy&#8221; as a badge of honor to emphasize the fact that we are spending those same 24 hours well. But is that really the case?</p>
<h2><span style="color: #6c4f70;">What to do Instead of Complete &#8220;Busyness?&#8221;</span></h2>
<blockquote>
<p class="line1">There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens Ecclesiates 3:1</p>
</blockquote>
<p>I have to be honest, I don&#8217;t like being &#8220;busy&#8221;. It feels unproductive, chaotic, and disorderly to me and to say that &#8220;I am busy,&#8221; doesn&#8217;t feel honoring to my time. Is there a better solution? I am so glad that you asked. With the guidance of Morgan from <a href="https://www.morganizewithme.com/">morganizewithme.com</a>, she challenges us to look at the &#8220;busy badge&#8221; in a new way.</p>
<blockquote><p><em>Let&#8217;s look at some of the synonmyns for busy: unavailable, buried, hustling, overloaded, swamped, occupied. These are not the kind of words I want to use when describing how I feel or how I am spending my time. I want to be able to say that my life is full &#8212; full of value, purpose, and meaning. &#8211; Morrgan Tyree page 56, Take Back Your Time</em></p></blockquote>
<h4><span style="color: #6c4f70;"><strong>If that is the case, keep your busy, right?</strong> </span></h4>
<p>I want to know that God is giving me 24 hours every day to make a difference, to tell people about Him, to be of good witness to my friends and my family, and to use to treasure that time and use it well. I want to know that my time was not just filled with busy but was filled with purpose.</p>
<p>We are not left without guidance in that area as well. Morgan has a system that is easily consumable and doable. Both things I like so that I don&#8217;t feel like even organizing my time is taking too much time.</p>
<h2><img data-recalc-dims="1" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2434" src="https://i0.wp.com/jaimewiebel.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Take-Back-Your-Time-Pin.png?resize=735%2C1102&#038;ssl=1" alt="Take Back Your Time will help you rescue your time by teaching you how to Identify Your Priorities, Decrease Stress, and Increase Priorities. <h2><span style="color: #6c4f70;">I Need a Plan to Take Back My Time!</span></h2>
<p>Morgan&#8217;s book is not just another self-help book, what I really loved about it was that her faith-based mindset could line up with my view on time.</p>
<p>So what about a plan? I need a plan. I am not going to divulge her complete plan or the details to set it up, I&#8217;ll leave that to her book, but here is where I am starting. Like I said it lines up with my faith-based views on life and it is going to help me get off that hamster wheel of overwhelm.</p>
<p>Morgan suggests listing your purposes in life and then listing your priorities under each purpose.</p>
<h4><span style="color: #6c4f70;">I am going to start with three major purposes to Take Back My Time. </span></h4>
<p>Now, I have a few more but I am just going to start there to get the ideas flowing.</p>
<p><span style="color: #6c4f70;"><strong>Home</strong></span> &#8211; (management and maintenance) I want my home to be filled with peace and centered on Christ. I want it to be a safe place for my kids to grow and learn to navigate life</p>
<p><span style="color: #6c4f70;"><strong>Work</strong> </span>&#8211; (writing, blogging, client work) I want Christ to be a the heart of everything I do so that my work can point others to Him.</p>
<p><span style="color: #6c4f70;"><strong>Relationships</strong></span> (family and friends) I want my relationships to be genuine and encouraging.</p>
<h4><span style="color: #6c4f70;">Under each of those, I have priorities to Take Back My Time.</span></h4>
<p><span style="color: #6c4f70;"><strong>Home</strong></span> &#8211; Maintaining a home that my kids want to come home to, where they are loved no matter the circumstance. Occasional housework (I am the worst &#8211; but putting this on the priority list)</p>
<p><span style="color: #6c4f70;"><strong>Work</strong></span> &#8211; Finish work before kids arrive home so that I can spend quality and quantity time with them.</p>
<p>-Work on blogging work in a timely manner, create a block schedule for my time that I am most productive and stick to it.</p>
<p>-Glorify God by sharing the hope that He has given me through <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/SeekingGodDaily">groups</a>, <a href="https://www.facebook.com/SeekingGodwithJaimeWiebel/">social media</a>, and <a href="https://jaimewiebel.com/seeking-god-daily-resources/">my website</a>.</p>
<p>-Work for clients in a way that is encouraging to them being productive with their time and resources.</p>
<p><span style="color: #6c4f70;"><strong>Relationships</strong></span> &#8211; Find ways to cultivate authentic relationships in real life.</p>
<p>&#8211; Be respectful of my husband and love Him the way that Christ has taught me to love others.</p>
<p>&#8211; Be supportive to/with my husband in raising our children and helping them make life choices that glorify God.</p>
<h2><span style="color: #6c4f70;">Take Back My Time</span></h2>
<p>As I am examining my time, I need to check and see that the things I think, do, and say, line up with my purposes and my priorities so that I am spending my time in a way that makes my time not busy, but full &#8211; full of meaning, purpose, and value.</p>
<p>Taking back your time can be a major life shift if your someone that bends to busyness. If you are someone that thrives and builds their time having every last minute spent, then this may not be for you. I can imagine that if you are reading this, you wanted to know How to Take Back Your Time. I would imagine your feel captured by not finding enough time to serve yourself and others well. You probably feel very stretched even beyond what it feels like you can bear.</p>

<blockquote><p>I received a copy of Holy Roar for review for free for my honest opinion.</p></blockquote>
<h1><span style="color: #8b94aa;">Holy Roar</span></h1>
<blockquote><p>Holy Roar: the freedom, the experience, the wonder of worship. It is seeing the church come together, hands lifted to God, pouring out our praise with an eternal song in our hearts. It&#8217;s every voice together, changing the way we worship.</p></blockquote>
<p>I had the recent privilege of getting the new Chris Tomlin CD &#8211; Holy Roar, and as always, it did not disappoint. My heart is for worship. Whether it be by music or lifting up my voice to God in praise, prayer, or admiration.</p>
<p>Often times, you will find me driving in my car, singing loudly, a song to the Lord. Nothing makes my heart sing louder than God moving my heart. There is something about it being moved with great worship music. What a great way to praise God.</p>
<p>I love that after we have listened to some really great worship music my kids are singing it. It doesn&#8217;t matter where we are, I catch them singing a song that we just heard on the radio or the latest song we are caught up on listening to over and over again.</p>
<p>We recently took a trip to Chicago and were able to listen to this new CD, Holy Roar, something like ten times. The traffic got crazy and our hearts were racing but my soul remained at peace having God to praise. We together praised Him for our protection and provision along the way. And for the amazing time that He allowed us to spend sweet time together.</p>
<h2><span style="color: #8b94aa;">Praising God Together in a Holy Roar</span></h2>
<p>I love the concept that is captured in this CD. Holy Roar. A way to lift our voices and praise God together. Lately, I have been leaving church, wishing that it could last longer. There is just something so special about joining believers together in worship. The feeling that you are where you belong when you are praising God united together is so amazing.</p>
<p>One day, we will be united in worship in Heaven. What an awesome day that will be. How incredible that God allows us a glimpse of worshipping Him in such an awesome experience now! What an amazing thing God has blessed us with in the here and now.</p>
<p>I was delighted as I listened to Holy Roar that it contained a couple of singles that I am already familiar with and already love singing. I already have favorites like Nobody Loves Me Like You and Is He Worthy? and Resurrection Power.</p>
<p><iframe loading="lazy" title="Chris Tomlin - Resurrection Power" width="500" height="281" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/AxH8Q8ue65o?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>I loved Holy Roar. This is music that can be put into your weekly worship and would fit right into praising God with a new song.  It is worship music for lifting up hearts to Heaven. I Absolutely recommend this CD. Your worship time will be transformed by Holy Roar.</p>

<div class="MsoNormal">I am very excited for this post this week. I have such a wonderful reason to celebrate, not only for myself but for all of you who have visited and joined me here at Seeking God.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">What am I celebrating today? First, this month I have been blogging here at Seeking God for two years. WOW! The time has gone by so quickly. Life is but just a moment, isn’t it? I stepped out in faith and followed where I believe God has lead me in ministry.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">It has been a great journey. I have made many blogging friends and had the opportunity to meet so many faithful servants. What an honor it is to serve here with you!</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">There have been many different changes here including changing the name of my site and getting focus and clarity on the things I am working on.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://i0.wp.com/3.bp.blogspot.com/-4VntTsFoXOE/WCLHCSt_pbI/AAAAAAAAaHA/ejNUIY62pK4gKN1hBC2Oap4FASozdjwiwCLcB/s1600/WIN%2521.png?ssl=1" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img data-recalc-dims="1" loading="lazy" decoding="async" border="0" height="320" src="https://i0.wp.com/fuh.sak.mybluehost.me/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/WIN21.png?resize=212%2C320" width="212" /></a></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">I have also had the opportunity to work with some great companies like Propeller Promotions, BookLook Bloggers, loved+blessed, and Fortify My Faith. In fact, before you go, &nbsp;go to yesterday’s post, see the reveal of this brand new company and I would love for you to sign up to win a <a href="http://www.jaimewiebel.com/2016/11/fortify-my-faith-subscription-box-reveal-giveaway.html" target="_blank">3-month subscription from Fortify My Faith</a>.&nbsp;</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">My new series that I am excited about is the Seeking God Series. If you have not had the opportunity to read the first two posts, you can read <a href="http://www.jaimewiebel.com/2016/11/verses-for-assurance-when-seeking-god.html" target="_blank">Verses for Assurance When Seeking God</a> and <a href="http://www.jaimewiebel.com/2016/11/Lord-Heal-Our-Nation.html" target="_blank">Lord, Heal Our Nation.</a> &nbsp;</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">I am looking forward to writing this series and bring it here to you because I think it is vital to know God through His Word and I am excited to bring that to you through this new series.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">Next, I am celebrating YOU! You have been with me for 50 Blog parties! Nearly a year and I cannot tell you how much each one of you means to me. I could not do this without you, nor would I want to.&nbsp;</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">Thank you, you give this procrastinator a bunch of accountability partners to be here every week and on time. I am absolutely thrilled to join you every week and share the Love of God with you.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">Finally, this next week is my 11-year anniversary to one of the loves of my life. My husband has been so supportive of my ministry here. Although it is not easy to work from your home, my husband has made that possible with his love and support.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">His support not only extends to me using the web as a ministry but he has been my spiritual mate. I love that I have been joined with someone who equally loves the Lord and knows what it means to submit in obedience to what he is calling you to do. You can read more about see how I view our marriage as a three strand cord in <a href="http://www.jaimewiebel.com/2016/06/two-chairs-become-one-bench-sitting-among-friends.html" target="_blank">Two Chairs Become One Bench</a>.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">Now every celebration needs party gifts. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://i0.wp.com/2.bp.blogspot.com/-1b6040kOzQ8/WCLEWJfq_II/AAAAAAAAaGw/PDkuvo9006w76SPhO0TAXdG5VZr5eLq2wCLcB/s1600/Blogiversary.png?ssl=1" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img data-recalc-dims="1" loading="lazy" decoding="async" border="0" height="320" src="https://i0.wp.com/fuh.sak.mybluehost.me/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Blogiversary.png?resize=640%2C320" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">I have put together a gift package of some of my favorite things. Many products from one of my favorite companies, CTA. They offer great products and devotionals that are super affordable. They are great to have on hand to give to people you meet.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
One of the many defining moments in life are those filled with exciting glide into the next page of our season.&nbsp;</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
We step in with so much grace and expectations.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
At this times we have the vivid picture of what we want for this next season. We hang the picture frame on the wall of our heart.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
Well… hopeful everything would flow seamlessly, only to hit a little snag called disappointment. Maybe another and yet another and you are discouraged!</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
Usually, we plunge right into this next phase of life hoping to ride the waves like we have always done but we fail to realize &#8216;these waves&#8217; may not be familiar.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
Trying to replicate our past ride with them becomes unsuccessful because it’s not the same.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
No two phases in life are the same.&nbsp;</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
Not even for familiar circumstances!</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
It is a safe bet to say discouragement comes in all forms at any stage of life.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
Maybe you have come to that crossroad to choose whether or not to move forward.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
Maybe things aren’t going as your heart had longed for.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
Are you discouraged at the recent turn of events?</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
I know how hard it can be to pray when you reach this crossroad.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
Whether we are surrounded by a dozen of life snaps,</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
Or past wounds that don&#8217;t want to go away,</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
Or a pain that reminds us of our fragility,</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
Or you sit in the waiting room of life</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
Or you have imprints from scars that can’t be hidden,</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;&nbsp;Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.&nbsp;</div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: &quot;Helvetica Neue&quot;, Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 24px; margin-bottom: 10px; text-align: center;">

<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
There is hope in Christ Jesus. Every part of the gospel reminds us of the Hope we have in Him no matter what phase of life we find ourselves.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
Hope that can’t be shaken by what the world throws at us.</div>

The ultimate hope that is in Christ which we receive by His Grace and set free by the&nbsp;Power that resides in the Name of Jesus.</div>

</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
Everything we are faced with drives us to His perfect plan for us.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
When I reach that desperate crossroads, I want to hide away from all of it Then I remember that… my safe haven is in the Name of the Lord.</div>

It is very important to me when choosing books for my children that contain Biblical ideas or concepts that the books don’t leave my kids with the idea that the Bible is in any way, a fairy tale.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Janis’s new book does a wonderful&nbsp;job of sticking to and teaching biblical truth and I appreciate that.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

<div class="MsoNormal">
In Janis’s new book The Kingdom of Thrim, she teaches children the wonderful concept of asking God the path you should take and following that path no matter the cost. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Yoj, the main character, quickly came to a life decision and did not seek God in his choice. This decision leads him to a path that may have paid better but did not lead to his happiness. Once Yoj realized that money couldn’t buy happiness, his reality shifted. To find how the story of Yoj ends, you will have to read The Kingdom of Thrim.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Her talents don’t stop at the ability to teach kids the importance of following God’s lead, she is also the illustrator of this beautifully painted book. &nbsp;The illustrations draw you right into the story and by the end, you are hoping that you, too, could visit or live in The Kingdom of Thrim. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
The story doesn’t end there. Janis has included instructions for a sock doll, which looks so fun to make, art and building block ideas, discussion questions, and research ideas. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

<div class="MsoNormal">
This is a well-rounded book that provides a full experience into the topics of following God and the path He has for you. </div>

<p>She encourages us to be welcoming while teaching others about the love of Jesus. Below is a post that Sue previously wrote on her page, <a href="http://welcomeheart.com/" target="_blank">Welcome Heart</a>, a story which she loves to share because it speaks to the motivation of God&#8217;s hospitality. I love this post and I know you will, too.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t miss the question below for an opportunity to sign up for Sue&#8217;s book, Come to My Table.<br />
Also, want to hang out with Sue, request to join her Facebook Page, <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/1738964459700351/" target="_blank">Welcome Heart Party</a></p>
<p>Thank you so much for meeting us here, Sue!<br />

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<h4>
To be hospitable isn’t a suggestion.&nbsp;</h4>
<p>Many may leave it to the extroverts and the Marthas – either Martha. I love helping others see what God will do with an extra place at the table and some hot sauce &nbsp;&#8212; or some Caramel Salted Brownies. Here’s what He did awhile back all because of an invitation.</p>
<p>“Would you like to come for Thanksgiving?” I asked Amie, a regular customer at our store.<br />
The question hung in silence a little too long for my comfort—two seconds or so. I rushed on, “We’re kinda loud. We play games. We have lots of food. Really, a lot of food….”<br />
She smiled. “I’m a good cook. &nbsp;Just made caramel salted brownies. I could bring caramel salted brownies.”</p>
<p>Well, well. My kids don’t like pie. I’ve tried, really. But brownies? Caramel salted?</p>
<p>“You’re in, Amie—you don’t even have to come—just leave the brownies on the porch!”</p>
<p>We laughed and said goodbye.</p>
<p>I didn’t know Amie’s last name or phone number. She didn’t know where we lived. All I knew was that Amie, recently divorced, wasn’t going to have her two little girls on Thanksgiving for the first time ever. And I didn’t want her to be alone.</p>
<p>The night before the big day, I got a text: “50/50 I’m coming.” My sister-in-law said, “Tell her to send the 50.”</p>
<p>The next morning, Amie made brownies and bravely faced our wild clan. Everyone loved her and loved on her. My artist brother gave her a painting. My poet brother gave her a book of poetry. My children fell in love with her brownies.</p>
<p>After the singing and sharing, she pulled me aside and quietly said, “This was the best Thanksgiving in my whole life.”</p>
<p>Really. I said she and her girls and her brownies were always welcome.</p>
<p>Two weeks later, she came to church. Three days later, she came to coffee. At the same table, minus the extra leaf, Amie grabbed my hand and said, “I’m ready” and prayed to become God’s new child.</p>
<p><a href="http://ctt.ec/9bE39" target="_blank">God’s in the business of filling up all the seats around His table. Who do you know who could use an invitation?&nbsp;</a>&nbsp;<a href="http://ctt.ec/9bE39" target="_blank"><b>~Click to Tweet~</b></a></p>
<h3>
A new guest in God’s kingdom.&nbsp;</h3>
<p>
All because of an invitation.</p>
<p>“Want to come for coffee?”<br />
“Can you stop by this week?”<br />
“Would you like to come to church? You can sit with us.”</p>
<p>God’s in the business of filling up all the seats around His table. Who do you know who could use an invitation?</p>
<p>Oswald Chambers wrote:</p>
<p>“The questions in life are remarkably few and they are all answered by the words—‘Come unto Me.’” (My Utmost for His Highest, June 11)</p>
<p>Jesus says, “Come to Me” whenever we take the risk to invite another.</p>
<p>“Would you like to come over? We’re normal, well, you know, ordinary, but fun and I think you’d enjoy yourself. We’d love to have you join us. Yes, you can bring your kids and your mother and Aunt Jessie from New York. You don’t have to bring anything, but you can if you want.”</p>
<p>Invite someone. The holidays are the perfect time. It doesn’t have to be fancy. It doesn’t have to be homemade. It doesn&#8217;t have to be planned in advance or pinned on Pinterest. There’s always room for more.</p>
<p>Maybe the next person you meet needs an invitation to your table. Maybe the next Person they meet will be Jesus.</p>
<p>PS Amie and girls come most Sundays for chocolate chip pancakes. We look forward to our second Thanksgiving together this year.</p>
<p>I’d love to give away a copy of my book: Come to My Table: God’s Hospitality and Yours – leave a comment to this question &nbsp;and you’re entered to win:</p>

<h4>
<br /></h4>
<h4>
Amie and Her Brownies, as promised.</h4>
<p>
Ingredients</p>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://i0.wp.com/2.bp.blogspot.com/-ODbh--BRH6A/V3p2olonceI/AAAAAAAAXRM/iFLAqvYOmroKoMCoIXF-o_dNK9pEYqouQCLcB/s1600/Amie%2527s.jpg?ssl=1" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img data-recalc-dims="1" loading="lazy" decoding="async" border="0" height="640" src="https://i0.wp.com/fuh.sak.mybluehost.me/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Amie27s.jpg?resize=425%2C640" width="425" /></a></div>
<p>
1/2 pound (2 sticks) unsalted butter<br />
8 ounces plus 6 ounces Hershey’s semisweet chocolate chips<br />
3. 5 ounces unsweetened chocolate ( I use TJ’s simply lite dark choc. bar)<br />
3 extra-large eggs<br />
1 1/2 tablespoons instant coffee granules ( I use TJ’s brand, very affordable)<br />
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract<br />
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar<br />
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, divided<br />
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder<br />
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt<br />
5 to 6 ounces good caramel sauce ( Again TJ’s…salted caramel)<br />
2 to 3 teaspoons flaked sea salt ( or kosher salt)<br />
Directions<br />
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter and flour a<br />
9 x 12 x 1 1/2-inch baking pan.<br />
Melt the butter, 8 ounces of the chocolate chips, and the unsweetened chocolate together in a medium bowl set over simmering water. Allow to cool for 15 minutes. In a large bowl, stir (do not beat) together the eggs, coffee, vanilla, and sugar. Stir the chocolate mixture into the egg mixture and allow to cool to room temperature (see note below).<br />
In a medium bowl, sift together – cup of the flour, the baking -powder, and salt and add to the chocolate mixture. Toss the remaining 6 ounces of chocolate chips and the remaining 2 tablespoons of flour in a medium bowl and add them to the chocolate mixture. Spread evenly in the prepared pan.<br />
Bake for 35 minutes, until a toothpick, comes out clean. Don’t overbake!<br />
As soon as the brownies are out of the oven, place the jar of caramel sauce without the lid in a microwave and heat just until it’s pourable. Stir until smooth. Drizzle the caramel evenly over the hot brownies and sprinkle with the sea salt. Cool completely and cut into 12 bars. (I re-salt as I serve, as I find the salt “melts” a bit)<br />
Note: It is very important to allow the batter to cool before adding the chocolate chips or the chips will melt and ruin the brownies.</p>

<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">Finding a family devotion can be quite a task. Don&#8217;t get me wrong, there are amazing books out there for families. </div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;"><a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-B72o9igBqoY/VzvhtRI37zI/AAAAAAAAV3Q/l-FN7pv_HlskcVEGbnh5ki8DXrMg04BigCLcB/s1600/Family%2BDevotional%2BBible.jpe" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" border="0" height="400" src="http://fuh.sak.mybluehost.me/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/FamilyDevotionalBible.jpe" width="400" /></a>I needed one, however, to span ages, build on previous knowledge, and keep their interest. My kids love reading Bible stories. I want something our whole family can enjoy, comes from an actual Bible, and we can learn and engage in conversation at the same time.</div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">
</div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">My kiddos range from ages 4-9. The ESV Family Devotional Bible has struck a chord with our whole family.</div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">
</div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">First of all, this is a complete ESV Bible. The ESV is a &#8220;word-for-word&#8221; translation of the original&nbsp;texts. Meaning each word of the original texts are translated&nbsp;rather than what is considered a &#8220;thought-for-thought&#8221; translation.</div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">
</div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">I am going to highlight the features of this Bible that are added to this version that I find to be so amazing they have my family running to the table to enjoy.</div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">
</div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">The Family Devotional Bible has 130 gospel story synopses. The featured stories are within the actual text that they come from. I find this to be an added feature because many times we want to expand or read parts directly from the Bible and it simply means turning the page. &nbsp;</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">Each story has a full-color illustration that draws you into the story. </div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">The expressions and the detail are superb and add great understanding to the story.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">After each story is a list of 3-4 questions for the family. We turned this into a game show type questioning and the kids loved being able to answer the questions. The questions are dig-deeper kind of questions. What I loved was each child could answer at their own level and still give great answers. (I was excited to see how well they listened and how much each of them knew.) &nbsp;&nbsp;</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">At the end of the Bible is a list of the synopses in order. Also, included is six colorful maps that have pictures to emphasize certain features like small and large cities, ports, and mountains.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">Overall, I would recommend this Bible and Devotional for families seeking deeper family devotional time. Further understanding of key Bible stories and times well spent in the Word of God together. </div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">Don’t keep this to yourselves. Having family time is an awesome way to get into God’s Word and build strong family units. Share this giveaway with your friends. Know someone who could use this Bible, sign-up and pass it along. </div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
</div>
<p></p>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">I am super excited to be able to give a copy of The ESV Family Devotional Bible away. This giveaway is open to US and Canada residents 18 years and older. Please see the guidelines below for complete details. &nbsp;Sign up in the Rafflecopter Giveaway Box Below!</div>

Jen Wilkin’s new book None Like Him will inspire you to think or rethink your views of God page after page.&nbsp; Ten ways God is different from us and why that’s a good thing is the premise of this page turner. Anytime I pick up a book and learn about God more in depth, I don’t want to put it down. &nbsp;</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Jen Wilkin uses a list, used by many theologians, listing ten attributes of God, that only He has. This list is paired with a list of attributes of God that we, too, can attain. Even if you are aware of these attributes, for visual people like myself, it is great to see them in list form. &nbsp;</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Each chapter of None Like Him goes into detail about these ten attributes that only God can have. Only God is Infinite, Incomprehensible, Self-Existent, Self-Sufficient, Eternal, Immutable, Omnipresent, Omniscient and Omnipotent. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
I love how Jen Wilkin goes through each one of these attributes and combines Biblical truths with real-life situations. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Since the beginning of time, starting with Adam and Eve, man has tried to become like God and in many ways become their own gods. We set our sights on things that only God is and we get frustrated that life is not what we want it to be or thought it would be. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
In realizing that only God can be God, we can move from worshipping creation and the things we make to worshipping the Creator. &nbsp;We are then free to be in awe of the Almighty Himself. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
This book would be great for the individual, small group, or large group study. There are several features that I really enjoyed in this book that make it great for study. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Each chapter begins with the attribute of God that pertains only to Him, from the list above, and then discusses the Biblical truth along with real-life scenarios. We see these attributes made visible in our lives and read examples of how we try to become like God in those ways. Then each chapter ends with Toppling the myth of human… (i.e. self-sufficiency) followed by verses to meditate on pertaining to that chapter, four questions to dig deeper, and an idea to write out a prayer reflecting on that attribute. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
In the very back of the book, there are several pages to write personal reflections which you may feel is adequate space to answer the questions throughout the book or you may want a journal to accompany your time spent in this book. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
This is certainly a book you will want to read. I would recommend this book to both women and men because the focus of this book was God and did not necessarily focus on issues faced only by women or men. As believers, I believe it is essential to understand God more to understand ourselves more. This book does a great job of relating today’s social issues with Biblical truths.</div>
