My blog may look a little different for the next couple of weeks. I have been really excited to show you some things that we have been working on here at the Wiebel House. 

We love making things and have been working hard since last fall on several projects. I love that God gives us not only a passion for Him but passions to do many things.

If you read my post, By My Father’s Hand, you will remember that my father is a carpenter (post features one project for our playhouse). He has built everything from houses to overseeing the playhouse we built in our backyard. Which, I am excited to show you in a couple of weeks. We are working on some final touches.

I love how working and making things always reminds me of my Heavenly Father. I have this time where my head can just drift into conversation with Him.  

God has created everything from the air we breathe and the ground we walk on to the pure hearts that He gives us as believers. I always love teaching the word create, as in the sense of God creating, to little kids. We try to hold out our hands and speak things into existence. They think it’s really funny to make a bird or a dog come out of empty hands (which, for some reason, I have never been able to do).

The kind of creating that God does means that He can make something out of nothing. The kind of creative things that we do is rearranging in a sense the things that have already been created.   

We are reminded in John 1:3 Through Him all things were made, and without Him nothing was made that has been made.

I love knowing that God is not only in control but He is in control of all that is created.

Using our creative side shows how we were made in the image of God. If you are not sure what that means, look around you. Look at the beauty that He has created in the tiny details of the plants growing and the radiance of the flowers blooming. His creation speaks of a Creator that loves creating.

The amazing part, He made that beauty for us. I am glad He has given us a passion for using our hands and making things.

This week, I am going to show you the garden we made in our yard. We have tried growing things at our house for quite some time and had little success. This year, we planted, and God is making it the grow.

We rescued some wood that would have been recycled in some other way. I am glad that we were able to get it because we love our garden!
