I hope these verses will encourage you in the days and months to come because as with all of God’s Word it is truly timeless and relevant to our lives today and for always.

Lord, heal our nation!

There seems to be a sense of panic and fear that is driving our nation. We are reacting in anger and be responsive instead of proactive. We are lashing out at others instead of bending our knees in prayer.

I would love to encourage you today, not through my words, but looking at 

God’s authority and authorship on life and His faithfulness through the generations.

Lord, we ask that you heal our nation!

Healing means to mend by stitching, to cure, to cause to heal, repair, and thoroughly make whole. Doesn’t that sound amazing! Something that can only be done by the One who has the authority to mend, cure and make whole.

As Christians, it is essential we keep our minds focused on who Christ is. He is always the ultimate authority no matter who holds office or what seems to be reigning in the hearts of people.

One verse that truly reflects this is Romans 13:1 (BSB) Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which is from God. The authorities that exist have been appointed by God.

We have become a nation that calls evil good and good evil (Isaiah 5:20). We have chosen pride and selfish ambition over godliness in our lives and decisions we make but we need to return to seeking God because Godliness makes a nation great, but sin is a disgrace to any people. Proverbs 14:34 (NLT)

We were called by name to be the voice of the nations. We must be a people of repentance and surrender. We must humble ourselves before God as we seek His healing. Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NLT)

Sharing the gospel with those around us is essential. Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. Romans 10:17 (NIV)

Christ died for our sins and we must be willing to love Him enough and love our neighbors enough that we tell them the truth. Their eternity is riding on the shoulders of them coming to Christ. Healing begins in the heart of every individual.  

Here is a great verse to share with family and friends to help them on their own journey to healing. But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. Isaiah 53:5 (NLT) Christ did this for you and me because He loves us, He wanted us to be healed and made whole again and we need to share that love others.

There will be a day when the Son will return and wholeness and healing will be brought to our hearts and our nations. That healing is for those who fear the Lord. Those who have chosen to repent and turn from their ways and have a surrendered heart before the Lord and rely on His saving grace to reach into their soul. Malachi 4:2 “But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall.” (NLT)

We are made whole through Christ. Life flows from Christ. We can rest in the promises of salvation and the forgiveness of sins. Christ bore on the cross for all who choose to submit their lives to Him. On the day, He returns, we will see glorious redemption to the heart of man and healing for the nations. Amen! Revelation 22:1-2 Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. (NIV)

Our hope rests in Christ alone. It rests with what He did for us on the cross. 

We need not forget his faithfulness through the generations because as His people cried out to Him, He healed their land. He healed their hearts.  

Don’t Lose Heart, Friends! He will continue to do that today because of who He is – He is the faithful healer.
