Before I had kids my life seemed simple. If I made a mess, I cleaned it up. But now I have three littles to also clean up after. More dishes, more laundry, just more and that means more of my time being devoted to someone or something else.
Life can be hectic. I get so overwhelmed sometimes. I have been on Pinterest lately (sounds crazy but I am a “newby” to the internet but that is a conversation for later) and have found fantastic ideas for getting organized. I decided I need a mission.
I want to be able to spend more time in the Word with God, more time in prayer and more time in quiet with giving my attention to my Lord.
But I feel torn. Anybody with me on that one? Between the dirty dishes, the homework, and the messes in general. I get so overwhelmed and begin to feel a bit underwhelmed in the things that matter (my family and the ministry there, my household duties, and my everyday activities).
When I started writing this blog I wanted to be writing and encouraging others through teaching God’s Word. But that has added more on my to-do list. A good addition because I have been so encouraged by others comments and conversations and have gotten so much out of this experience.
One of the verses I keep coming across is Romans 1:12 When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours.
So I am on a mission. To get my life a little more organized so I have time for things that matter most. The ministry to my family. This ministry to the body of Christ. For my household duties of being a stay-at-home mom. For the things that I feel God calling me to do right here and now.
I don’t have many things figured out with my new mission so you adding to this conversation in the comments with ideas and feedback would be great.
Here is my first project: I saw this pinned from makeandtakes.com. Here is my version of the menu board. I have always done my weekly meal planning (it just saves time and money at the register).
As you can see from the Before and After shot, I used a white board and just wrote the food for the week. In the after shot you can see it looks nicer. It is scrapbook paper with Menu and days of the week printed directly on the page. Put in the Glass Front Frame. Write the menu with a Dry Erase Marker that cleans off easily. Super Easy! A cleaner less messier feel makes my head seem less cluttered. Less clutter=happier mommy.
Fun Easy Menu Board project for under $5!
I hope that you enjoyed this project. Let me know if you have any organizing tips for a busy mom. I am always looking to add a little simple to my day.

I love this idea! I usually messily write down my menu for the week on a piece of paper, then forget where I put it! Will have to look into making one of these. : )
I'm visiting from the 'Faith Filled Friday' link-up

There are some super paper ones that you can also use weekly and toss away. I like those two but this one I can just wipe off and reuse or easily change what we are having with a simple wipe of the board. This also lets everyone else see what the options are so I am not the only one choosing meals.

It looks like you're doing a great job of getting everything together, Jaime! I love your new menu board! I'm going to have to try that myself. Great to visit with you today! Hope you'll stop by and link-up at my blog hop today! Peace and many blessings to you, Love! ๐

Yes! Thank you for sharing. Need this in my life too…

Thank you for stopping by Tai East, Susan B. Mead, and Lux G. Couldn't we all use a little more calm in the midst of our crazy busy lives?

Great to meet you, Jaime. I too love the Lord. It is fun to get more organized too. I like your menu board a lot. Do you scrapbook too? I used to be a Creative Memories consultant, so I scrapbooked a lot. I'm visiting from Literacy Musings.
Jaime Wiebel says
Thank you Amy for stopping by from Literacy Musings. I don't scrapbook. I take pictures and l leave them on my disks for what reason I do not know. Some day I am going to wish that I had all those pictures so neatly laid out to show my children. Maybe in pursuit of getting more organized I will deal with my picture issues.

Great idea…anything to make my days flow easier.

Loved How easy this was.

If all your children are in school – – – as soon as they leave is the best time to take ah hour to read your Bible and pray. Be sure to not do all the "talking" but ask Jesus what he wants to say to you today. You will find the laundry other chores etc will go more smoothly. If you have babies at home. Set them in a play pen and give them some small toys while you have your quiet time. Thank you for sharing your menu board with us here at Tell me a Story. I think it is a great idea.
Jaime Wiebel says
Thank you for the tips Hazel. I always love encouragement from others and always consider what they say so I appreciate you sharing.

What a cute menu board! I understand completely how you are feeling. It is easy to get overwhelmed but it is in moments like this, that we do realize what is most important in our lives. Thanks for sharing with #SocialButterflySunday! Hope to see you link up again this week ๐
Jaime Wiebel says
Thank you for hosting at Social Butterfly Sunday. It is nice to have other mom that are sharing and able to relate to what we are saying. Nice to feel like we are not alone.

Because it is the ease of writing on the glass rubbing off and then rewriting I think it would be worth the effort to make it to start with even for lazier people like – me! dropping in from Hazel's True stories
Jaime Wiebel says
That is funny Sandra. It is really easy to wipe off. Easier than actual white boards. My son has been looking at it to know what we are eating for the day.
