Honey, where’s my key?
I don’t know how many of you have ever lost something that is really important or not yours. Losing things really frustrates me. Literally, I go crazy trying to find something when I have lost it. It is all I can seem to think about.
The funny thing is the harder I look the less likely I am at finding it. Anyone with me on this or am I the only crazy one. You don’t have to send comments about that.
The other day, I realized in all the hussle and bussle of Christmas, I had misplaced a key. That may not have been a big deal except the key was not mine, nor did it really belong to the person that I borrowed it from; you know one of those DO NOT DUPLICATE ones.
I called my grandma to tell her I could not find her key. I thought maybe I had given it to a couple of other people so I called them, too. It seemed I had lost the key.
My grandma was not only understanding but gave me great advice. She said stop looking for it and pray God will help you find it. Lose the frustration and lean on God. Great thinking.
I prayed for the key to show up and I stopped fretting about it. Several hours later, wouldn’t you know it, the key found me. There it appeared in plain sight on the edge of a laundry basket.
I called my grandma and said the key found me. I could say I found the key but I couldn’t find it. Then all of a sudden there it laid, amazing! God is Amazing!
By the way, God wants ALL of us. He wants our big things, our illness, our job loss, our family struggles, or whatever big thing your facing. He also wants our little things, our missing keys, our stressful morning or restless nights, our uncertainty about what our little one needs right now. He wants it ALL. He wants ALL of us.
1 Peter 5:6-7 says: 6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the right time, 7 casting all your cares on Him, because He cares for you.
We don’t have to have it all figured out that’s the humility part. Saying its okay to know God can take care of our big things AND our little things. Cast it ALL on Him, He cares for ALL of you.
God cares for us so much and wants us to come to Him about everything. Not only our needs but also our victories. Take it ALL to Him. Praise Him for it ALL and the blessings that he has in store for you will flow graciously.
May God bless your whole week, the big things and the little tiny things that get you through the day.
What have you lost? What have you turned over to God and received victory for?

Three years ago, a friend asked my husband on a mission trip. He said no. Two years ago, same thing. This year, he thought about it, worried and tried to say no, Because of time, money, etc. I prayed each I those years because I wanted him to go. This year he spent a great deal of time with his friend on a hiking trip up a 14,000 ft mountain. They really bonded and talked. All of my prayers didn't seem to matter before, but it was because God was waiting for him to be ready. He is going, not by my will, but by God's will and by my husband trusting. He even raised all the money in 3 weeks. Praise God. Turn it over to Him and His timing and He does answer prayer!
