Who is Jesus? A Child’s Persepective
Story from Special Guest Blogger- Kale, Age 8, Now 14 (updates added in purple)
If you met a new friend today and they asked you, “Who is Jesus?” What would you say?
These verses are three of my favorite verses I learned in AWANAs. I think that a friend would understand who Jesus is from these verses.
I would say these verses to them.
John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
Jesus is called the Word. This verse is telling us Jesus was with God in the beginning before the world was made. It is also telling us that Jesus is God. Through Jesus, all things were made and without Him, nothing would have been made. So if He were not real then nothing would be made that has been made.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His One and Only Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.
This verse helps me understand that Jesus died for us. God loves us so much that He sent His One and Only Son to die for us. Because we sin we deserve to die. Since He died for us, we can live with God forever. That is AWESOME!
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. Mark 12:30
This verse means we should love God with our life.
I love God because He is powerful. He died and He rose because He is God.
Maybe these verses will help you learn more about God and His Son Jesus. I hope that you will read this and live with Jesus someday in Heaven and trust in Him.
This post was orginally published on this site on October 25, 2017. Although it is hard to see so much time that has passed (this only felt like yesterday) to see my boy grow and continue to love Jesus yet another thing that God has allowed me to treasure in my heart as a mom.

Awanas programs are amazing! My son learned John 3:16 at 4 years old and still recites it after 2 years from learning it. Thanks for sharing this wonderful article with #SocialButterflySunday. Hope to see you link up again this week 🙂

We are so excited for AWANA to start. What a great way for the kids to memorize God's Word and hide it in their hearts.

I love how even young kids can articulate such important things! I hope this little guy gets to tell many people about who Jesus is. Thanks for sharing!

Faith like a child. If we could go through life in this simplistic manner our eyes would be so opened. Thank you for stopping by.
