Jamie, I love so much about this post, I hardly know where to start. For one thing this–"sometimes as parents, we get stressed out and our kids, who are our absolute joy, can bring out the worst in us"–just happened in this house. Am working through it…help me, Lord. Then, I love the Scripture from Isaiah. We spent much time in that book during Bible study a few years ago, and that verse–"In the year King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord"–remains so powerful to me. I love the truth that when an earthly "hero" of ours is moved out of the way, we can see the One we truly should worship. And also, this: "Hope, my friends, turns a corner here in the story just as it does when I bow my head before God." I love how you phrase that! Glad you are here today, Elizabeth. I love this reminder you gave us here. In the year King Uzziah died, reminds us that hero can cloud our vision of seeing what we are truly supposed to worship and it is never to be man. Sometimes those heroes have to get out of the way so we can really see God – Our true hero. Oh, How Isaiah saw Him, seated in His proper place. I love these verses! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you, Michelle. I do appreciate those kind words. I am glad that you have shared with us here. Sometimes, it is easier as parents, if we speak the truth of hardships. I don't like to degrade my children in any way, but sometimes it is tough and not all smiles and sunshine. We need to know that we are normal parents who have struggles. Very interesting, I think that we forget that our kids are still growing in every way. I used to tell my two ever so often that when I yell at you don't listen to the yelling but listen to why I am.

A beautiful truth we sometimes have a hard time embracing. As parents, I think we often times, feel like failures. In our responses and decisions. Just reading verses from the kings of 2 Chronicles this week to take some parenting tips. God does truly provide us with an amazing guide book for life! It is easy, Elizabeth. I think we, as a society, are expected to always put ourselves first, where we have time to develop that "woe is me" mentality. Serving others in love leaves less room for that kind of reaction. So glad that you are here and sharing your heart with us here!
Your link party is on Wednesday! I knew there was someone I was missing this week Jaimie! I am humbled when I think about who I am in Christ and what God has done for me. That was not always the case but I'm thankful for His grace. Turning and keeping our eyes on God takes practice and focus. The more consistent we are, the easier it becomes! It's so funny that I'm reading this today. I actually was reminded yesterday of how my 3 littles decided to lather themselves up in vaseline a few years ago. I can look back on that and laugh at it now, but back then it was far from funny! It is amazing how they can bring out the worst in us, isn't it?? I love that God is patient with me as His daughter. I know it something I need to work on with my kids. Just as He extends grace, I need to have grace too. Thanks for sharing!
Oooh No! We can always look back and laugh. Except for when they get hurt. Being a parent in the trenches is much harder then being one in perspective. Yes, I am always disappointed in myself when they bring out the worst in me. I, too, have to work on it, but who doesn't? You are so right, what a loving God we serve that He is so gracious with us even when we are dropping the ball. So glad to have mamas like you sharing and helping me to feel "normal". When I think about Jesus, he always brings me to my knees in submission for what he has done. But, I know he doesn't want me to stay there. He calls me daughter, and wants me to get to my feet and go and serve him. Thankful for your words and linkup, Jaime.
That's such a great point, Rachel. Although, Christ can bring us to our knees, He doesn't want us to stay there. I love the story of when Jesus is walking through the crowd and the women touches the trim of His robe for healing and He doesn't reprimand her. He doesn't belittle her for being someone she wasn't supposed to be, He calls her daughter. He heals her and tells her to go. That is exactly what we are supposed to do with our healed hearts. Go and share the love of Jesus with others! So blessed you are her every week, friend! I look forward to you sharing next week!

That is funny you say that. I asked my mom the other day something about myself. I said did I ever do that, she said no way! But they always say you pass on the things to the next generation. That is why we try to pass on our faith. Their little stories are forgiven and I hope that I am able to pass on a faith for them to pass on and not just silly antics. I am sure I emptied my mother's drawers in different ways. Always learning to be that mommy, Jesus seeks for me to be. Thanks so much for sharing your stories, dear Hazel!
Jaime – Great post – I love these verses in Isaiah as well, I especially love the picutre that is painted in regards to the Lord's Robe filling the temple.I tried to paint it once, but it didn't turn out the way I saw in my mind. There are so many amazing verses in Isaiah. I love how we are taught the faithfulness and mercy from a God who loves us throughout this book. I am with you, I love when we are rocked by the presence of God! So glad you found our space and we look forward to you coming back and sharing with us!

Thanks, Laura, for the tips. Some of these directions didn't work and caused me a lot of time to fix. Her link may be a little out-dated. Not sure. I don't typically reply to people that comment on my blog via email. I am not sure that I have the time to do that. I figure the conversation can happen here. Not sure how others feel about that if they like getting an email response?
I like there to be an ongoing conversation here. I only have so much time to manage a blog and since this is the space I do it, this is where I take the time to have conversations. Some comments I leave, I leave them for anyone to see. I feel my ministry and the great conversations happen there. Leaves room for others to see the comments and maybe help them in their walk. I do take a lot of time to comment and it is not just necessarily for the commenter but for the sake of the conversations as a whole. Most of the people that comment are no-reply bloggers. I was not sure what that meant but now I do, thanks.
I did switch to a reply blogger, if it didn't work because I switched my profile back, I have to leave it that way because I want my profile linked to my google+ account. I appreciate your feedback and sharing your insight with us here weekly.

I so loved this post (just like I love all of your posts!). When your little princess did her little redecoration, well, oh my! I can only imagine the deep breath. The heart drop into your stomach. The raising of blood pressure! ha! I can smile now at the memories of my stinkers doing stuff like that, but those were tough moments when they happened!!!
I love the book of Isaiah. I think I'd have to say it might just be my favorite book of the Bible. So much good stuff there!
